Photographers were given only two requirements:
1) Take an image within the Genesee River watershed of New York State
2) It must be a square crop
Everything else was left to each photographers personal inspiration.
The results of this project are as diverse as the Genesee Valley landscape.
Photographers of all abilities and styles participated from students to full-time professionals.
Genesee Valley Conservancy is working to protect lands in the Genesee Valley and through these images you can see why conserving land here is so important.
Habitat supports an array of wildlife, farming supports our local economy, open spaces provide a great rural quality of life for residents and visitors.
The landscape changes with every season.
What inspires you about the Genesee Valley?
Photographers from 8 counties and 3 states participated.
Some of these lands are protected. Future generations will be able to appreciate these places.
